While working at the dFm, I worked alongside the lead graphic designer to create elements for this poster series. My role included designing the title artwork in all three of the posters as well as creating the graphic veggie illustrations. These posters were used to promote different events for WestwoodWestwood week.

OPEN 27 HOURS
At the corner of Fairfax Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard stands Johnie's Coffee Shop, a small time capsule of the American people. Despite the name, the ever-so-comforting grease and coffee odor has ceased to lure in eager consumers since Johnie’s closing in 2000. Yet, the empty promise claiming “open 27 hours” remains plastered along the facade of the building. The space is occasionally rented out as filming location and most recently opened its' doors as a hub for the Bernie Sanders campaign in 2016. Johnie’s has also been declared a Historical Landmark.
Today, the American diner remains as a symbol of the prosperity and optimism that forecasted a shift towards sub-urbanity and an auto-oriented city of the future. Though it is often romanticized as such, I find interest in the socially conservative and highly materialistic ideals that were ubiquitous of the time. The charming bold colors, once-flashy lights, and the unique space age inspired architecture are what remain of the flourishing consumer minded American values.
Open 27 Hoursis a photographic exploration of a vacated space that remains in a time beset with political and social unrest. It challenges the contradictions associated with the preservation of this American Diner and entertains new perspectives of what Johnie’s might actually reflects of the American people.

Weeds is a competitive gardening game that pits neighbors against neighbors competing for a full vegetable garden. Players will trick their neighbors by making them believe they are the best gardener on the block. Remember, looks are deceiving. The objective of this game is simple: have six veggie plots in your garden before your neighbor!
This simple drawing system uses keys as the tool bar and allows for practice with coloring in the lines using a mouse or trackpad. I created a simple coloring book program. With the keys a, b,c, and d you can choose between 4 simple shapes. With the keys 1-9, you can pic different colors to fill in the shapes. To erase what you have drawn simply select the same shape on the keyboard again. Ideas to further this drawing program would be to give the users more options in terms of brush style and shape.
